BARBARA A. CHEVEN, a graduate of New York University, received her J.D. degree in 1976 from Brooklyn Law School. Since her admission to the New York State Bar, Mrs. Cheven has served as an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association and has been a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mrs. Cheven has been a partner in Cheven Keely & Hatzis and its predecessor firms since 1977.
HARRY A. KEELY, received his B.A in English and French from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1971 and his J.D. from Western New England Law School with honors in Evidence in 1976. Since his admission to the New York State Bar in 1977, Mr. Keely has served as staff counsel to several insurance companies, as well as serving as Attorney-of –Record. Throughout his career, Mr. Keely has been active as a trial attorney, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury actions, commercial litigation, products liability and criminal actions. Mr. Keely is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, as well as to the Florida State Bar.
CHRIS M. HATZIS, attended Saint John’s University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Class Marshall in 1981 with a degree in finance. There, he also received his J.D. degree in 1984. Since his admission to the New York State Bar in 1985, Mr. Hatzis has been involved in litigating high exposure cases including claims of premises and products liability, nursing home neglect, medical malpractice, labor law claims and automobile accident claims. Mr. Hatzis, a partner in Cheven Keely & Hatzis since 1992, is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
CONSTANTINE “GUS” HATZIS, a graduate of New York University, he received his J.D. degree from Touro Law School in 1997. As a member of the New York State Bar, he has been associated with Cheven Keely & Hatzis since 1997 and is now a non-equity Partner with the firm. Mr. Hatzis is involved in litigating complex high exposure cases, with an emphasis in injuries caused by Trucking accidents. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
